Birding Charleston with Arch McCallum
You can find all these species for yourself. Just search eBird for sightings and you'll know where to go.
But, as the videos above demonstrate, birds don't always just sit and let you look at them. They also forage, sing, nest,
and even clean up.
As a professional ornithologist, I can tell you about all those things, as well as taking you to my favorite
Lowcountry birding spots to see and hear them. If you'd like to sign up for a personalized birding tour in
South Carolina's Lowcountry, visit Birding Charleston with Arch McCallum. If you'd like learn more about the birds pictured here,
along with more videos, go to Media Gallery.
P.S. As you know, we don't always see birds when they're singing. It saves a lot of time to know their songs, particularly if you are new to an area, because the warblers sing different songs in different places. Also, some birds are much more likely to be heard than seen. I recognize the local species by voice, and I can teach you how to do it. Below are some noteworthy songs from the Lowcountry. |
